Acclaimed Chef Daniela Soto-Innes brings to Mexico the manifestation of her creative and culinary vision: Rubra, a new restaurant in the costal jungle of Nayarit, Mexico.

Located on the Punta Mita peninsula at one end of Banderas Bay at W Punta de Mita, Rubra is Soto-Innes’ first venture since leaving her Restaurant Cosme in New York City. Designed by Mexican Architects Ana Paula de Alba and Ignacio Urquiza, the space is made of a single material, entirely bespoke, and inspired in part by the Madre Sierra Sur Islands nearby, evoking the classic Mexican architecture of the Pacific coast.

Rubra envisions a cuisine in which the creativity hinges on the movement, transformation, and cycles of her ingredients. The cuisine will carry through Soto-Innes’ signature touch, featuring harvests from her garden and focusing on tropical cooking.

Every aspect of the venue carries Soto-Innes creativity and her almost entirely female team, from the name – meaning incarnate – to the layout of the space to the wine bar to every detail of the dishes themselves. Joining Chef Daniela are Estefania and Valentina Brito, the Venezuelan sisters who worked with Soto- Innes in New York City.

The restaurant will offer four menus: a café-style breakfast menu with pastries, toasts, and juices, a wine bar menu, and both an a la carte and tasting menu for dinner, featuring nine courses of both plated and shared dishes.
