Scott Crawford announces the opening of Crawford’s Genuine in Terminal 2 at Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU). A collaboration between Miami-based Grove Bay Concessions and Raleigh’s Crawford Hospitality, this represents the first Grove Bay Crawford JV opening – and the premier sit-down restaurant in RDU’s Terminal 2. Crawford’s Genuine will be open from 4am to 10:30pm daily for seated and Grab & Go service. View the menus here.

“RDU welcomes Scott Crawford and the elevated experience Crawford’s Genuine offers to travelers in Terminal 2,” said Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. “This premier dining concept is part of our program to reimagine travel at RDU. We are excited to have one of the region’s most acclaimed chefs bring our guests a taste of North Carolina’s finest food and southern hospitality.”

“This new venture means a lot to our company and community; I’m especially thankful we have found a partner like Grove Bay Concessions for this project. We’re excited to reach a broader audience with our cooking and our brand. It’s an incredible opportunity to introduce visitors and residents to Crawford Hospitality. It’s also exciting – and an honor – for us to be elevating the food, beverage and overall hospitality at RDU,” explained Chef Scott Crawford.

“The opening of Crawford’s Genuine represents a pivotal moment for Grove Bay Concessions, marking a significant step in our expansion efforts. This project is not only a testament to our commitment to partnering with exceptional local talent, but also an honor to collaborate with the renowned five-time James Beard Foundation Semifinalist Chef Scott Crawford.” — Francesco Balli, Co-Founded & CEO, Grove Bay Concessions

Crawford’s Genuine – the 2,600-square foot restaurant with seating for 95 (including 20 bar seats) – will be open all day, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, emblematic of James Beard Foundation “Best Chef” nominee Chef Scott Crawford, whose eponymous restaurant Crawford & Son was a JBF Finalist this year for “Outstanding Hospitality.”

This upscale bar and grill concept will have all the food, beverage, design and service hallmarks of a refined Crawford Hospitality dining experience, tailored for travelers at RDU.

“We’ve worked hard to be as accessible as possible, and strike a balance between serving those who have time to spend dining with us, and those who don’t, but need something high quality, nourishing and delicious,” explained Crawford.

Crawford’s Genuine will serve throughout the day and night, from 4am to 10:30pm, offering seated breakfast, lunch and dinner menus to enjoy as you would in any streetside Crawford Hospitality restaurant, as well as a Grab & Go menu available from a dedicated to-go area. Travelers in a hurry will be able to select from a case of prepared food, and order from an additional to-go menu, designed for quick preparation.

Breakfast (4am to 10:30am) will feature fresh granola and yogurt with coconut and honey alongside heartier dishes like Short Rib & Eggs and Brioche French Toast with candied spiced pecans.

Lunch and dinner (10:30am to Close) will offer appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. Travelers may begin with Smoked Chicken Wings with Alabama White Sauce, Tuna Tartare with Rice Chips or a Kale Caesar with garlic bread crumbs.  Fans will be thrilled to find his Fried Chicken Sandwich with Spicy Buttermilk Ranch and Smash Burgers two ways. Composed entrees will feature comforting Roasted Half Chicken with creamy garlic rice and Grilled Pork Chop with cheese grits and Mushroom Cavatelli. Complete the dining experience with Dark Chocolate-Buttermilk Pie or Warm Bread Pudding with Salted Caramel Ice Cream.

The Grab & Go Menu – available for purchase at a To-Go section outside of the restaurant – will feature a selection of pastries, like Ham & Cheese and Chocolate Croissants, as well as Salads, Sandwiches and Crudite with Pimento Cheese.

As expected, guests will discover craft cocktails – including a “Genuine Old Fashioned,” as well as well spirit-free cocktails, such as a Phony Negroni. Bond Brothers and Raleigh Brewing Company are on draught, alongside a brief, well-curated list of European wines by the glass.
