Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Convention Center today announced the promotions of two key culinary leaders, reinforcing the hotel’s continued investment in talent and its expanding food and beverage program following its recent million renovation.

Keven Kvalsten has been promoted to Executive Chef & Beverage Director, transitioning from Executive Chef to now overseeing the hotel’s entire food and beverage program. In this role, Kvalsten will guide overall food and beverage strategy, operations, and team development across the property, including Esther’s Table, the hotel’s signature restaurant.

Christian Oxley has been promoted to Chef de Cuisine, stepping into a role overseeing the hotel’s full culinary operations. Previously serving as Executive Sous Chef, Oxley has played an integral role in shaping the kitchen’s day-to-day execution, supporting menu development, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality guest experience.

Both Kvalsten and Oxley have been instrumental in the hotel’s culinary evolution, particularly following its recent renovation. Their leadership has helped strengthen the property’s food and beverage offerings while building a team focused on quality, consistency, and guest experience.

Since completing its renovation, the Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown has experienced increased interest in its event spaces, growing demand at Esther’s Table, and expanded programming—signaling continued momentum for the property and its food and beverage offerings.

“These promotions reflect not only Keven and Christian’s individual contributions, but also the direction we’re heading as a property,” said Austin Tyler-Thull, General Manager, Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Convention Center. “As the Sheraton continues to grow, we are focused on investing in strong leadership and building a team that can deliver a standout experience for our guests.”

The promotions come at a time of growth for the Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown, with a continued focus on enhancing its food and beverage programming and attracting top hospitality talent in the market.
