American-owned and operated Red Gold recently donated $125,000 to Folds of Honor to support scholarships for the families of fallen military and first responder heroes. The donation is from the proceeds of the company’s Folds of Honor Ketchup and Mustard products to consumers via supermarket retailers and foodservice operators who serve Folds of Honor products.
“Our company was created to provide food to soldiers during World War II,” says Colt Reichart, Senior Director of Marketing and Consumer Relations and a 4th generation owner of Red Gold. “Our donation is on behalf of the many foodservice operators, consumers, and employees who purchase our Folds of Honor products. All should be proud of our All-American commitment to the worthy charity.”
Folds of Honor provides educational scholarships to families of fallen or disabled military personnel and first responders. Since the formation of the charity more than 73,000 scholarships have been provided.
The iconic Folds of Honor symbol on Red Gold Ketchup and Mustard bottles on a supermarket shelf or restaurant table instantly bonds patriotic Americans to the cause and where they saw that bottle or packet of ketchup. “We term our effort as ‘Ketchup With A Cause’ that is more meaningful than other brands,” Reichart explains. “We provide additional support to foodservice operators by providing door clings and table tents to fully recognize them for their support to this worthy cause.”
