WHAT: The Events DC Embassy Chef Challenge is a gathering of Embassy chefs from around the world, showcasing the unique flavors of their home countries in a friendly, delicious culinary competition. The 2025 Challenge is expecting participation from over 30 embassies, offering an immersive, global foodie experience only possible in Washington, DC.
Attendees will travel the world with their taste buds, sampling bites and beverages from the participating countries while chefs compete to win the coveted People’s Choice Award, chosen by guests’ votes and announced alongside the Judges’ Choice, selected by a panel of influential members of the diplomatic, cultural and culinary communities.
“The Embassy Chef Challenge celebrates the rich diversity of cultures from around the world through an exquisite array of food, entertainment and more,” said Events DC President and CEO Angie M. Gates. “We invite you to join Events DC and our partners at the iconic Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium for a culinary journey that explores global flavors in a truly unforgettable way.”
With more than 175 embassies in Washington DC, this international culinary competition is a uniquely DC, one-of-a-kind, culturally enticing experience, not just in America, but around the globe. This prestigious culinary event is expected to sell out once again, attracting passionate and adventurous epicures for a light-hearted evening of rich cultural indulgence.
The 14th annual iteration of the Challenge not only encourages, exemplifies and celebrates culinary diplomacy but will also highlight the global achievements of the area’s awe-inspiring musicians, dancers and singers from around the world.
