Logan’s Roadhouse has been acquired by multi-concept restaurant operator SSCP Management.

PitchBook listed that the transaction occurred on December 3. Additionally, multiple employees have changed their LinkedIn profiles to “SSCP/Logan’s Roadhouse.”

Also, Logan’s Roadhouse was removed from SPB’s website and LinkedIn page.

FSR magazine reached out to representatives of SSCP and Logan’s Roadhouse for comment.

The steakhouse was founded in 1991 in Lexington, Kentucky, by Dave Wachtel and Charles McWhorter. Eight years later, it was acquired by Cracker Barrel. Over the next two decades, the brand exchanged hands twice more and filed bankruptcy before being purchased by CraftWorks in 2018. This stop didn’t last long, as CraftWorks declared bankruptcy in 2020 because of pandemic pressures. Fortress Investment Group acquired the company for approximately $93 million and rebranded it to SPB Hospitality.

Logan’s has over 100 locations across 22 states, according to its website.

In recent years, SPB has made several M&A moves of its own, acquiring J. Alexander’s Holdings and José Garces’ restaurant concepts Amada and Village Whiskey. The group also took control of Krystal, which Fortress bought out of bankruptcy in a separate transaction.

In 2024, SPB sold its brewery and specialty concepts (Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery, Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurants, ChopHouse & Brewery, Ragtime Tavern Seafood & Grill, and Seven Bridges Grill & Brewery) to Kelly Companies. Last year, it sold Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom to an undisclosed buyer.

As of now, its portfolio features Krystal, J. Alexander’s, Stoney River Steakhouse & Grill, Amada, and Village Whiskey. In September, SPB named GJ Hart CEO after past stints as chief executive of Red Robin, Torchy’s Tacos, California Pizza Kitchen, and Texas Roadhouse.

SSCP is the parent company of Cicis Pizza, Corner Bakery, and fine-dining concept Roy’s. Additionally, it franchises Applebee’s and Sonic restaurants across Texas, California, and Virginia. Together, the company oversees well over 500 locations. The company was founded in Dallas by CEO Sunil Dharod.
